We provide services and reagents, at competitive prices, for molecular biology and microbiology research. Our services are available to all Tufts scientists.

Liquid media
The core lab stocks Luria Bertani (LB) broth in 500ml aliquots, which may be traded for an empty bottle. We prepare several other broth preparations on request—MacConkeys, brain heart infusion, syncase, Mueller-Hinton, M9salts.

Agar plates
The core lab pours LB plates, as well as plates containing any of a variety of combinations of standard antibiotics that we have in stock. Additives such as IPTG or Xgal must be provided by the lab placing the order. Turnaround time on orders is generally within three days.
